The Daily Painting Movement. The, "Daily Painting" part is apparently subject to interpretation. Purists feel one must complete one paining in one day, or one is not a daily painter. Many painters who paint daily feel they have as much right to call themselves, "daily painters" even if they don't finish a painting in a day. Still others feel if they complete three to five paintings in a week, that's close enough. I decided to give daily painting a try in 2008. It goes against the nature of the art I do, my hopes were it would be a growth experience. I had hopes of being in the first category, but ended up in the third category. While I was pleased with the paintings I did, I wasn't pleased with the self-imposed pressure coupled with the compromise, small though it was. These daze, I try to have three paintings in the works at any given time. There are daze that I'm underneath the car instead of painting, but you can bet I wish I were painting daily.
